What if tomorrow were today? Part 2

In Part 1 of this article, we noted that most managers agree that the use of digital technology is becoming increasingly crucial to the success of major operational improvement projects. In fact, many of them worry that this technology is not being implemented quickly enough in the change management field. Indeed, it’s hard to understand that, after having invaded our daily lives so quickly and so pervasively, these technologies are so slow to integrate our change management methods.

This challenge in “walking the talk” is certainly not due to a lack of existing tools. For the past few years, companies have been developing platforms that are adapted to each step of the change management process.

Brio | Management Bouttique is one of the firms that have contributed to developing the tools of the future. Here are just a few of them, including ours, illustrated in a chart that shows how different companies’ approaches can often work side by side.


Pinipa is a collaborative platform used to manage change and transformation projects. Named for the UK firm that created it, this platform allows users to share ideas, and to work collectively to establish action plans and analyze benefits, risks and impacts. Pinipa is accessible via computer, tablet or smart phone, connecting users between the “Impact Study” and “Communication” stages of the change guidance cycle.

Prodsy is a collaborative platform that specializes in impact and risk analysis. Created by an Isreali firm of the same name, it is also accessible via tablet and smart phone.

E-Change is a series of change management training videos developed by the UK firm Change First. The videos focus on one of the key functions of change management specialists, i.e. accompanying different stakeholders within the company.

Change Scout is a collaborative platform used for sharing and monitoring change projects. Named for the Australian company that created it, this tool is actually a dashboard that allows everyone involved in the change project to do follow-ups, measure progress, and even determine the adjustments to be made along the way.

Workshop Factory is an application designed to lead virtual workshops. Developed by a France/Canada partnership between David Autissier and Jean-Michel Moutot, this tool allows users to lead off-line workshops.

SherpaTOTM, created by Brio Conseils, focuses both on change piloting and impact analysis. Developed in collaboration with HEC Montréal, this tool produces action plans and dashboards, making it very comprehensive.

In terms of digital transformation, everything is in place for technology to optimize change projects: we have the tools, we’ve demonstrated their usefulness, and managers are now convinced that they should be put to use.

The only thing slowing us down is our natural resistance to change. So it’s now up to us – meaning the change management experts – to convince our clients to adopt these tools right away, because tomorrow is actually today.
